The tensile strength of Q235NH steel plate is 58-80 Ksi (about 400-550MPa), and the yield strength is 36 Ksi (about 250MPa); the tensile strength of Q235 steel plate is 370-500 MPa, and the yield strength is 235MPa; the tensile strength of SS400 steel plate is 400-510MPa, and the yield strength is 245MPa. For the mechanical properties ofQ235NH steel plate, the thickness of steel plate is less than 16mm. It can be seen from the above data that ASME A36 and Chinese Q235 are named after the yield strength of the material, while SS400 is named after the tensile strength of the material.

Although low carbon steel has excellent plasticity, toughness and processing technology, its strength is low and its corrosion resistance is not strong enough. On the basis of ordinary low carbon steel, the low alloy structural steel with high strength, high toughness, good weldability and corrosion resistance can be obtained by adding a small amount of alloy elements and the total amount is less than 3%.
