ASTM A588 steel properties: Given its high strength, ASTM A588 steel weighs less than A36 carbon steel without a reduction in strength. At the same time, it is the best material for outdoor applications and shows orange-brown surface. A588 steel sheet has high tensile & yield strength but also exhibits good resistance against atmospheric corrosion for its small copper content.
