Weathering steel plate refers to the low alloy structural steel with protective rust layer and atmospheric corrosion resistance, which can be used to manufacture steel structures such as vehicles, bridges, towers, containers, etc. Compared with A588 Gr A yield strength, ordinary carbon steel, weathering steel has better corrosion resistance in the atmosphere. Compared with stainless steel, weathering steel has only a small amount of alloy elements, such as phosphorus, copper, chromium, nickel, molybdenum, niobium, vanadium, titanium and so on. The total amount of alloy elements only accounts for a few percent, instead of more than 10 percent as stainless steel, so the weathering steel price is relatively low.

Both steelmaking and ironmaking are carried out by oxidation-reduction reaction, but there are great differences between them in reaction objects: ironmaking is to reduce iron, while A588 Gr A yield strength steelmaking is to remove excessive carbon and other impurities in pig iron, so there are relations and differences between them in actual operation. There are three main methods of A588 Gr A yield strength steelmaking: converter, electric furnace and flat furnace. The converter steelmaking process is most widely used.

The Egypt customer ordered 130 tons A588 Gr A yield strength stainless steel plate in stock, and this batch has left port today for its destination today(October 25th, 2019). 316l stainless steel is molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel. This material has better corrosion resistant property than 304/314L for it's higher Ni and Mo content. (it is considered to be marine grade stainless steel, not suitable for warm sea water treatment). 316L austenitic stainless steel supplied by our company has good formability and weldablity, additionally it is proved to have excellent properties of tensile, creep and stress-rupture strengths in elevated temperature environment.
