TBT 1979 steel standard

TBT 1979 is a standard for atmospheric corrosion resistant steel. This standard specifies the dimensions and shapes, weights and allowable deviations of atmospheric corrosion-resistant steel used for railway vehicles, the method of designation, technical requirements, test methods, packaging, marking and quality certificates, etc.

TBT 1979 standard is applicable to hot and cold rolled steel plates, strips and sections of atmospheric corrosion-resistant steel used in railway vehicles. Corrosion resistant reason: corrosion resistant structural steel is to add a small amount of alloy elements in the steel, such as Cu, P, Cr, Ni, etc. As a result, the corrosion process of steel can hardly be carried out in depth. The longer the time, the denser the protective film is, the more obvious the corrosion resistance is. It has higher atmospheric corrosion resistance and better performance than general exposed metal structural steel.
