SA387Gr5Cl2 steel material is suitable for refining and gas treatment in hydrogenation and conversion equipment at high temperature. The maximum thickness of A588 Grade C N plate, SA387Gr5Cl2 steel plate can reach 250mm. According to different thickness and impact requirements, the heat treatment of SA387Gr5Cl2 steel plate is normalizing plus tempering or normalizing plus rapid cooling plus tempering. By using special smelting method, the content of phosphorus is reduced so that sa387 has high brittleness resistance and good impact toughness at low temperature.

A588 Grade C N plate, low alloy high strength steel has good weldability. Welding is the most common method to construct engineering structure, so the steel used in engineering structure requires good welding performance. Low alloy high strength steel has low carbon content, low alloy element content and good plasticity, so it is not easy to produce quenching structure and crack in the weld area, and the addition of Ti, Nb, V can also inhibit the grain growth in the weld area. Therefore, most of the low alloy high strength steels have excellent welding performance and no heat treatment is required after welding.

The main applications of normalizing are as follows:① For low carbon steel, A588 Grade C N plate. The hardness of low carbon steel after normalizing is slightly higher than that after annealing, and the toughness is also better, so normalizing can be used as the pretreatment of cutting.② For medium carbon steel, normalizing can be used as the final heat treatment instead of quenching and tempering treatment, or as the preparation treatment before surface quenching by induction heating.③ Normalizing can be used in tool steel, bearing steel, carburizing steel and so on, which can eliminate or inhibit the formation of network carbide, thus obtaining the good microstructure needed for spheroidizing annealing.④ Normalizing can refine the cast structure and improve the machinability of steel castings.

The quality grade symbols of Q235 steel plate are A, B, C and D respectively. Different grades represent different impact temperatures. A588 Grade C N plate, Q235A is not required for impact toughness test; Q235B is required for impact toughness test at room temperature (20 ℃); Q235C is required for impact toughness test at 0 ℃; Q235D is required for impact toughness test at - 20 ℃. For the above-mentioned B, C and D grade steels, Akv ≥27J is required under different temperature requirements. At different impact temperature, the impact value is also different.
