05CuPCrNi Z35 plate, 40Cr material is a common machinery manufacturing steel under GB/T 3077-2015 standard. After tempering, it has good comprehensive mechanical properties, good low temperature impact toughness and low notch sensitivity. The hardenability of steel is good. It can be hardened to Ф28-60mm during water quenching and Ф15-40mm during oil quenching. The cutting performance is better, when the hardness is HB174 -229, the relative cutting workability is 60%.

When using 05CuPCrNi Z35 plate, low-alloy high-strength steel, it is desirable to take advantage of its high strength and use a thinner section, not only for saving weight but also for the economy as much as possible. However, the corrosion factor must be fully considered. The thinner the steel section, the more attention should be paid to corrosion protection. Some low-alloy high-strength steels have good atmospheric corrosion resistance, which can not only improve the effect of anti-corrosion coatings, but in some cases, take appropriate precautions and can even be used without being coated in the atmosphere.

Tempering includes high temperature tempering, medium temperature tempering and low temperature tempering. Tempering means to reheat the 05CuPCrNi Z35 plate quenched steel to a certain temperature and then cool it in a certain way. Tempering can reduce or eliminate the internal stress produced by quenching, reduce the hardness and strength, and improve the ductility or toughness of steel. After 05CuPCrNi Z35 plate quenching, the workpiece should be tempered in time, and the required mechanical properties can be obtained through the combination of quenching and tempering.

05CuPCrNi Z35 plate, ASTM A131 shipbuilding steel has different grade levels. The ordinary strength shipbuilding steel grades are grade A/B/D/E. Their min. yield strength is 235 Mpa, and tensile strength is 400-520 Mpa. The higher strength shipbuilding steel grades are grade AH32/DH32/EH32/FH32, AH36/DH36/EH36/FH36 AH40/DH40/EH40/FH40. The min. yield strength of AH32/DH32/EH32/FH32 steel is 315 Mpa, and tensile strength is 440-590 Mpa. The min. yield strength of AH36/DH36/EH36/FH36 steel is 355 Mpa, and tensile strength is 490-620 Mpa. The min. yield strength of AH40/DH40/EH40/FH40 steel is 390 Mpa, and tensile strength is 510-650 Mpa.
